Coaching that fits one athlete at a time

Private sessions give your athlete a coach’s full attention for 60 minutes. We build the plan around what matters to them, whether that’s lifting heavier, moving with more confidence or getting ready to join a group class.

Coaches adapt every exercise, cue and break to how your athlete learns and communicates, and the plan grows as they do.

Who it’s for

Private training works for almost any athlete. These are the athletes who tend to get the most from it.

01

Just getting started

Athletes who are new to the gym and want to learn the space, the routine and their coach first.

02

Extra support needs

Athletes who need more cues, more breaks or a quieter room than a group can offer.

03

Specific goals

Athletes working toward a goal like a first deadlift, better balance or more independence at home.

04

Getting ready for a group

Athletes building the skills and comfort to move into a small group class.

Before your first session

  • Athletes can train on their own or with a support person, like an aide or family member.
  • Tell us how your athlete communicates and what helps them feel calm. We’ll plan around it.
  • We ask for medical clearance for physical activity. Confirm

Inside a session

  1. Warm up. The same opening routine every session, with a visual schedule on the board.
  2. Lift. Strength, balance, agility and cardio, adapted for each athlete.
  3. Play. Games for coordination, teamwork and a little friendly competition.
  4. Be proud. A cool-down, high fives and a shout-out for every win.

Private training FAQ

Who can train at Echo Motion?

Athletes of all abilities, ages 10 and up. We specialize in working with people with developmental and other disabilities, including autism, Down syndrome and other developmental or physical disabilities. Not sure if we’re a fit? Call or text us. We’re happy to talk it through.

How is this different from a regular gym?

Everything is built around the athlete. Our coaches have backgrounds in special education and adaptive fitness. We adapt every program to each person’s body, communication style, and sensory needs.

What do I need for virtual sessions?

You’ll need a phone, tablet or computer with a camera, a steady internet connection, and enough clear floor space to move safely. We’ll go over setup with you before your first session. If your athlete needs hands-on help, have a caregiver nearby.

What's the difference between private, small group, and virtual training?

  • Private: one-on-one personal coaching. Best for new athletes or anyone who does better with individual attention.

  • Small group: up to 4 athletes per coach. Personal coaching plus the fun and friendship of training with others.

  • Virtual: live coaching from home. Great if travel is hard or you’re not local to Pasadena.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 60 minutes.

Do you offer yoga?

Yes, adaptive yoga focused on flexibility, balance and calm.

What if my athlete needs extra support?

That’s what we’re here for. Our coaches adapt to each athlete. If your athlete needs one-on-one help with personal care or behavior during group classes, please bring a caregiver or support staff. Private sessions are also a great option for athletes who need more individual attention.

Can I train alongside my athlete?

Yes, we do offer programs and training for family and caregivers to exercise alongside your athlete. Discuss with your coach or call us for more specific details because each case is unique.
